Social Media, Training and Membership

Greetings:

In one week, Bob, K2OFC, will be offering free training for the Amateur Radio Technician Class. If you are the least bit interested in taking the class, please EMail NJKCARC@gmail.com, and we will set you up. Training will be on Wednesday evenings in June and July.

So, I decided to post about our training class on Facebook, using the NJKCARC account. After doing so, one or two things would happen--we would get people signing up for the class, people would visit our website or both. This morning, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, I noted our unique hits on our website. I then posted about the class, and shared it to accounts that I follow, with several thousand members. Two accounts were Amateur Radio-based, and the third was a collegiate Knights of Columbus page. With less than 30 minutes after posting, we had additional hits on our website--just a couple, but still--and we have had more hits since then. We are not setting the world on fire, but there is a spark.

As a result of a Facebook post I made, we have another prospective member. His Grand Knight passed him information about our club to him (thank you, WGK!), and he contacted me. This individual is an Amateur Extra, and even visited our 80m net on Monday night, albeit with just a receiver. He stated that next Monday night he will visit the net with a transceiver. I hope to see you there!

If you want to receive your Technician license, please take our class. It's FREE!
